Memorial Day! May 27, 2008

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day yesterday.

Now what I’m wondering is where it became a tradition to grill out on these types of holidays.

We didn’t grill out. might be due to the fact that we don’t have a grill. But what did we do?!?!

We went to Panda Express! Something about that just doesn’t seem right. Chinese Food on Memorial day. Hey, maybe we have a new found tradition! :)

Moving May 20, 2008

So yeah, we’re moving again. Not very far this time though, just up a flight of stairs. :)

We are taking over the whole lease of the house here, and may or may not rent out the basement, so if anyone knows anybody that needs a 3 bedroom place here, we got it, and its way cheap!!! :)

We may just keep it for ourselves to run some sort of business in, but anything as far as that goes, is really unsure at this point-so we’ll see.

Middle of June to the end of June, is when we’ll be moving, so I’ll probably be busy for a while getting everything taken care of!!! :)

I am so glad that we’ll be able to stay in this area. :)

Dreams May 19, 2008

There is a song that I like, I don’t know many of the lyrics but it basically says: “when you dream, dream big”

I have been dreaming to have my own business, and be able to do it from home. We have been working, and working hard on trying to figure some things out, and its hard to sit down and work out prices and figure the legalities of everything out, but we have gotten much, much closer!

We’ve got quite an eclectic mix of things that I want to do, and hopefully one of them will just take off, and I can still maybe do some other things on the side.

I just have big dreams and hope to achieve those dreams one day. It would be so nice for Dave and I to both stay at home and earn enough money.

Hopefully we get going soon, so he can quit his job, and so I don’t have to work at my night job very long (Do I have one yet? Nope, but I will need to have one soon)

We live in my friends basement right now of a house that they are renting-and they told me today that they are moving out, so we were placed with the opportunity to move upstairs-so we are going to take that up, and do that. We will rent out the basement to someone (hopefully), until we need the space. Its a great deal, in a great area. Although there are some things that do need to be worked on, but we’ll get that going before we sign a lease!!! I am so excited!

Windows Vista May 15, 2008

So on my computer I have Windows Vista.
I’m comparing it to Windows Millenium Edition, or Windows 2000.
Basically IT SUCKS>
I am SO tired of my computer freezing, crashing, or just not knowing what the hell its doing.
Sad thing is, I didn’t upgrade to it, I bought a computer with it on it, and WAS excited for it! arghhh
I HATE it!
It makes finishing my projects REALLLLY hard.

Come on Microsoft FIX it!!

Pretty please :)

I’m living under water… May 14, 2008

So, in the house we live in, its about 30-40 years old, so I don’t expect it to have too many problems, especially since it was updated about 10 yrs ago at least? But I am just guessing that.

Anyways, when we moved into this place in September, I began work basically the same day we moved in. I couldn’t unpack or do anything til I got home from work, because having Dave do it, yeah that probably wouldn’t be the best idea.

My friend are renting the whole house, and had, had a day care running in the basement but decided to discontinue the day care for whatever reason, so they told us we could rent it out from them for $650/month and that they’d take care of utilities and cable/internet, and all that jazz. We were like SWEET! The place is bigger, then our last place, but a bit more expensive, but we weren’t paying utilities, so it basically all evened out. Our last place was a 2 bedroom, hole in the wall, but we paid less than 400 bucks a month, and not that much in utilities.

So that first couple weeks we lived here, it STANK!!! Why? Oh because it flooded down here multiple times. The water heater would just go crazy basically, and it got into our office, narrowly missing all of my scrapbooking goods and all the other stuff. It was about 2-3 weeks of constant flooding and having it smell like crap. They finally figured it out, and I was so grateful for it, but for a while i’d still have trouble sleeping thinking it would explode…

Then about a month after that got fixed, I notice water coming from the same area, but thru another area. Right the hallway wall!!!! our game shelf was right next to it, so I was worried that our hundreds of dollars of games were going to get ruined. Dave acted fast, turned the water off, and got it fixed. Turns out it was a simple issue, and it hasn’t happened again, thankfully!!!

We really hoped that would be the end of it. Boy were we wrong!!!

About a month or so later, I walk into the bathroom, same place where the water heater closet is, and its all wet…my rugs are soaked, oh and the toilet is completely full and water is flowing out of it…I had to buy all new rugs, cause they just stank. So much for my black and green bathroom…I just went all black with the new ones. And we had bought new ones when we moved in too!!!

Fast forward to about a week ago…Dave is playing Xbox in the front room, like he does every night, and he hears dripping. Thinking it was just the sink or something, he let it go a few minutes, then went to check on it. Yeah it was dripping from the ceiling. The ceiling in OUR KITCHEN, right where we make food. What is dripping? URINE, toilet water, just absolutely disgusting smell, and stuff coming thru the ceiling. Dave texted the people upstairs and asked them to come check it out, and try and figure out what was going on, and he refused so Dave was mad, of course, when I heard about it, I was furious!!! The portion upstairs got fixed, but not down here, so we’ve been stuck eating out for a few a week, cause i refuse to eat where urine is.

So yesterday, I went into the office to do something on the computer (check out my new zune), and I look at one of the windows, and notice that its pretty wet, but didn’t think much of it…so I turned on the computer and everything. Then I had to get something off of Dave’s desk. The airport (for the wireless internet) and the DSL modem are absolutely soaked. No wonder the internet had been running crappy all day! So, I screamed for Dave to get in there, and then called my friend, yeah he’s still yet to come down and check it out. LOSER! It ruined my TV (just a 20 inch that we had in the office to play games on or something), and water was going directly into a surge protector and dave was pretty scared to unplug it with the water in it.

Turns out it was a sprinkler, that they had set up RIGHT THERE! Are they trying to get us to move or something?!?! Geez! I am still so mad, how much they just don’t care, and the lack of respect. It could cause real problems for them, if they don’t get themselves figured out reallllllll soon. We pay them rent on time, and we normally don’t have any problems, and if we do, we’re quiet about it and try to take care of it ourselves, but when it involves our safety, and it continues to be water issues, they should really care a lot more. We havent signed any sort of contract or anything with them, and the house is their responsibility to take care of things-the owner of the house, even said that our friends upstairs are our landlords. yet they tell us to call the landlord all the time if we have a problem! LAME!!!

So this is why I feel like I live underwater. Fun huh? I can’t wait to hear back from the mortgage guy, to see if we can get approved for a house! I am SO desperate to have my OWN place! (and not tell them we’re leaving. LOL)

Yeah!!!

My 17 month old, went to the potty again all on her own, she needed help getting her pants off though—but she went poop!

I am so flippin’ excited, I don’t think it could be understood by most.

She came to me, and yelled, “I GO! I GO!” so I said you need to go potty bai bai? she went “MOM!” so she started running in there, and there ya have it. Such a cute kid! She’s the best!

Don’t Correct Me! May 13, 2008

Please don’t correct me for such petty reasons. Seriously, do you really think its worthwhile?
Is there something about it that makes you feel better about yourself?
Ugh, I’m tired of it, and you can’t do it to me anymore, just learn respect!!! Man!!!

Feelings May 12, 2008

Why must my feelings get hurt so easily?
I really wish I was a lot stronger than I am. I’ve sort of worked on the crying easy part, but really, there’s times where I just want to crawl into a hole, b/c my feelings have been hurt so bad. I just want to delete everyone but a few from my friends list, quit 90% of the message board I’m on (i’m only regular on like 5?). I am just so fed up with people thinking they run the world. I REALLY hate being corrected, and I don’t understand why people do that!

As much as I like message boards I don’t like how there are cliques, and if you don’t fit in that clique, well forget getting your questions answered. Forget thinking that your feelings mattered! Seriously. People are rude. If you can’t make it to their little get together’s cause they are an hour away, or because you don’t have a license or a car cause your husband actually has a real job, and doesn’t work at a tiny store, and thinks he can support everyone on that? ughhh well maybe he can since you recieve 600/month for one child from your ex each month. Hey whatever works for you!

But seriously, try and think about other’s feelings before you hurt them. Little things maybe not, but big things, can really hurt someone.

WIND May 12, 2008

Last night the wind was just awful.
It howled for hours last night!
The top to the fisher price climbing thing flew off of it, and the kids toys are just all over the place. I’m sure many trash cans have been knocked over.

Wind is just one of the many joys of living in Highland I suppose. i’d rather deal with wind noise, then barking dogs. We can’t wait to get into our own house though, so hopefully wherever we move to, there’s no loud barking dogs and stuff!!!

Buying a house is just totally stressful and so many things to take care of. We haven’t even really started officially yet, and its already a bit stressful!

We do sort of want to stay in this area though, and that makes prices just a lil’ bit higher unfortunately :(
